Happy Christmas to all from Hyzyd!

Are you considering Lasik?

Wearing spectacles are cosmetically unappealing for me. There is a degree of distortion when looking through the periphery of the glasses, the field of vision is reduced and on leaving a cold room, moisture can fog the glasses and blur vision for a few minutes...It's such a hassle for me. That's why I stopped wearing my eyeglasses for quite some time now. Contact lenses? I'm afraid of infection! I can't imagine myself insering and removing my contact lens evey now and then. It needs great attention to hygiene during the insertion and removal. Other friends suggested Lasik surgery. Lasik? It makes me nervous to the fact that I'm not comfortable with anyone coming near my eye with something sharp. The various Lasik clinics sound anywhere from impersonal to something similar to Dr. Frankenstein's lab, and the Lasik procedure itself sounds, well, surreal. It seems like the only people that would get Lasik are those with such bad vision that they cannot get out of be

14 months old Hyzyd

I was awaken this morning with a reminder on my phone " Hyzyd's 14 months". Oh, I thought, my baby is already 15 months! LOL! Yes, today is my baby's 14 months on earth and we're so glad that he's healthy and developing well. Our baby...ooopsss...our toddler is now pretty clever at inventing strategies to get his point across. He grunts or shriek with pleasure or anger, literally push me in the direction he wants to go, or proffer a prop- a sippy cup if he's thirsty or a shoe if he want to hit to stroll in the mall . I feel like I'm living with a tiny caveperson. LOL! He's favorite word these days is "dad". Whenever we get home from school, he always welcome us with the word "dad" and hug his daddy and give me a kiss if his dad will ask him to. I taught him to say "mommy" but he will just snob me. Poor mommy! We don't "baby talk" to him. We talk to him like he's a gentleman. Like this evening, we wen

To buy WoW gold or not

My friend who found me at facebook kiddingly asked me for a Christmas gift. I asked her what would she like. Could you believe that she asked me to Buy WoW Gold for her? What's a Wow Gold? First and foremost, Wow refers to World of Warcraft. It is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by Blizzard Entertainment. Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is a genre of computer role-playing games in which a very large number of players interact with one another within a virtual game world. Why need to Buy WoW Gold ? Like every MMORPG game, World of Warcraft was set up with its own Game Currency system, which is based on WOW gold. Players in WOW are from every part of the world. To survive in the game, they need WOW gold to buy potions, gears, tools.. etc . It will also help you buy in-game money to skip the boring parts of the game. The gold is also used by wow players to repair virtual items, level accounts, buy pets, mount, synthesis equipment and

Where's our wedding rings?

My father used to say that one way to enrich your marriage is to start each day with a kiss and always wear your wedding ring . I have something to say about our wedding wedding rings . I did something terrible to our wedding rings that if only I could bring back the time I wouldn't dare to do it again.I decided to soak them in a silver cleanser to remove the tarnish. I forgot about it when the baby cried and I have slept overnight! It totally damaged our wedding rings! We decided that when we have enough budget we'll purchase again our wedding rings, this time it would be Tungsten carbide wedding rings. These have been growing in popularity lately. They are promoted on the notion that they are virtually indestructible, highly scratch resistant, and they will last forever - like your relationship. We'll see to it too that Tungsten rings warranty will cover a lifetime repair due to a defect in material or workmanship without charge for materials and labor ,replacement guara

Professional movers make house moving smooth

We moved again last night! This time it happens suddenly but was filled with excitement and adventure unlike the first move we made. It's kinda sad and lonely. Before we moved I see to it that I talked to my toddler about the move though he may not yet understand the reasons behind but I'm glad that he shows that he enjoyed our new home. Though we moved just an apartment away from us, it can't be denied that stress and anxiety were induced. We haven't considered using professional movers like Los Angeles Movers because we haven't yet acquired lots of heavy furnitures and appliances. I'm not really sure if there are professional movers here in the city like the Los Angeles Moving Company . If there is, I would be glad to hire one if ever we'll move again.I won't have to worry about the logistics of getting our things from one place to another. Like my friend in Canada who shared to me her experience about moving, she knew that she's not the most orga

Take care of your tot's vision

Almost 1/3 of my K-2 learners already wear eyeglasses. I don't want it to happen to my baby boy. Just as taking care of my baby's teeth is important for proper growth and his well-being, so too is taking care of my tiny tot's vision. I'm planning to take him for his first eye exam. I've read that American Optometric Association suggests parents should take their children in for their first official eye exam by six months old (I'm kinda late for that!). While that seems young, the earlier you start caring for your child's vision, the better. It is important for us parents to recognize some early warning signs of vision problems in our children. Young children often cannot verbalize what is going on with their eyesight. Here are some warning signs your child may have a vision problem: 1. Frequent straining to see things 2. Poor eye/hand coordination 3. Frequent eye rubbing 4. Lazy eye 5. Problems in school 6. Difficulty keeping eye contact 7. Frequent squint

Everyone's Hero

I downloaded tons of cartoons for my little boy. I must admit I love watching cartoons with Hyzyd too! Recently we've watched "Everyone's Hero". It's a heartwarming comedy-adventure, telling the story of a young boy named Aaron Breslow ...Opppsss...it's Yankee Irving who ventured on a thousand-mile journey to help Babe Ruth and the New York Yankees win the World Series. In the process, he restores his family's honor, befriends the world's biggest sports superstar, and reveals the hero within. Do you like baseball? If you do, you could visit Aaron Breslow 's blog. Aaron Breslow discusses his passion for baseball and his baseball skills. You will also notice that Aaron Breslow 's blog covers everything from the latest news to tips for improving your game. It would be nice if we could have the chance of introducing Hyzyd to the world of sports. The values he will learn can aid him for the rest of his life. Simply playing baseball , basketball or

on paying bills

My friend once commented that I'm good in handling money and in budgeting. Honestly, though I'm trying my best to stretch our budget sometimes we still end up having debts. It's not really a big debt that I'll end up calling J. Hass Group to help me get out of debt. One way of handling our financial resources wisely is paying our bills promptly. It will help us avoid late fees and interest charges. Here's what I usually do: 1. I set aside a special place to put our bills when they arrive. As soon as I receive them, I open our bills, then put them in this special place. 2. I mark our calendar to remind us of bill-paying dates and to help me keep to our schedule. Our electric and water bills' due date fall every first week of the month except for our telephone and internet bill. 3. Pay the bill. We pay at 7/11 convenient stores for all our bills. It's very convenient for us rather tan going to each company to pay the bills. 4. I file the receipts away and kee

Who's Corbin Bleu ?

I think all the teenagers who've watched High School Musical couldn't forget Chad Danforth , Troy Bolton's best friend and teammate. He's Corbin Bleu Reivers in real life (born February 21, 1989). He's an American actor, model, dancer, and singer. He is perhaps best known for his roles in the High School Musical film series, the Discovery Kids television series Flight 29 Down , and the Disney Channel Original Movie Jump In ! He also pursued a solo career and released his debut album Another Side on May 1, 2007. The album debuted at number thirty-six on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 18,000 copies in its first week. Bleu released his second album, Speed of Light , on March 10, 2009 in the U.S. Why bringing up Corbin Bleu, all of a sudden? Well, he reminds me of my brother who loves to sing and dance too but he's shy to show it off...he..he..I hope that if Hyzyd will possess such talents, he'll not be ashamed to show it off. I will be there to support hi

Hyzyd got his passport!

Now that Hyzyd has his passport done already, we're now ready to fly to Philippines!

Mead Johnson, Maker of Enfamil, Loses Multi-Million Dollar False Advertising Case Against Store-Brand

This is a sponsored guest post written by a Press Release on behalf of PBM Products . Post powered by Sponzai . GORDONSVILLE, VA., December 2 , 2009 — PBM Products, LLC , a leading infant formula company that supplies store-brand infant formulas to Walmart, Sam's Club, Target, Kroger, Walgreens, and other retailers, has received a favorable jury verdict and a $13.5 million damages award in its false advertising lawsuit against Mead Johnson & Co., the operating subsidiary of Mead Johnson Nutrition Company (NYSE: MJN) (“Mead Johnson”), the makers of the national-brand Enfamil® LIPIL® Infant Formula. Mead Johnson is 83 percent-owned by Bristol-Myers Squibb. PBM’s lawsuit claimed that Mead Johnson engaged in false and misleading campaigns against PBM’s competing store-brand of infant formulas, suggesting they do not provide the same nutrition as Mead Johnson’s brands. PBM’s store-brand infant formulas cost up to 50 percent less than Enfamil® LIPIL®. The $13.5 million in

Couples Corner: on Shopping

We all gotta shop, but how we shop, and why we shop, varies. I should say my shopping habit stays the same before and after marriage.I love to shop cheap things, maybe because I don't have much to spend...he..he... I could only get designer clothes when they're on sale ( as if I live for sales!?! ). I felt guilty when I spend too much for a "not-so-important" item. Maybe it's the tendency of the eldest of 13 siblings, you always think about your younger brothers and sisters. You wanted to give something when they're in need. That's why I'm thrifty and like to save money. I keep an eye on prices. Even if I like a certain item and the price is way above my budget, I won't buy it. Brand names are not that important to me. I know how to have style without collecting designer tags:) My fave hangout before is at " Puer Thai ". It's a big flea market in Hatyai City which opens every Thursday to Sunday. This is where I bought my inexpensive

Mirror, Mirror on the wall

We miss our big mirror on the wall in our old apartment. Hyzyd loves to gaze his own reflection on a mirror. We had so much reflection fun before and I was told that it would help bolster my baby's development . Through that mirror, I introduce to my baby his handsome face by pointing at his reflection. I touched his nose, stroke his hair, gently pinched his ears, and name each body parts. Sure, he doesn't know what the words mean at that time, but he was delighted just the same! What's the point of looking in the looking glass? The mirror game helps your baby learn how to focus, track images, and explore the wonderful things a face can do. Plus, it promotes social and emotional development as he interacts with you . Eventually, he'll learn that the friendly face he's been looking at all along is none other than his very own. Now that's a powerful lesson in who's who:)

an afternoon at SE-ED Bookstore

We lived behind a mall, at Diana mall to be exact, one of the popular malls in Hatyai City. Hyzyd already knew that once I get home, I'll take him to the mall at Skippy's Wonderland to play. SE-ED bookstore This particular afternoon, instead of going to his playground, we went to SE-ED Bookstore. I want to buy some children's book for him and I'm looking for some home and family articles . Too bad, though they have great books and magazines in English title, but the articles are all in Thai language:( I need some home and family articles to place in this blog one of these days with the subjects in mind . I found Article Alley a helpful one. They offer nearly all the contents for their readers to use- you could either re-publish them ( provided that you keep the author's bio in track ) or simply read on because they're articles are all informative. The article about 5 Innovative Ways To Find The Perfect Holiday Tradition For Your Family is very helpful for me i

Please Save Elmie!

(L-R) me, Elmie, Cherryl, Rosalinda on year 2001 Who's Elmie? She's my friend and a classmate way back in college. I was saddened when I received the news from our college instructor before that she met a car accident- a terrible one that left her immobile for more than a month now! She's supposed to attend a seminar last Nov.13 in Bukidnon when they she met the accident because the driver got asleep . She met the accident in line of duty. To date, she's still confined in one of the hospitals in Cagayan de Oro City but her family is planning to transfer her in our province- Surigao del Norte because their financial resources is already depleting. According to the news, they're spending about 100K Php a day for her medication! They've already asked help/donations from almost all the schools and government offices in our province. She still need to undergo arm surgey because it's broken during the accident. Poor Elmie...If only I could help her... I could pra

My Shining Moments with Hyzyd

our recent family photo The first time I joined Mommy Moments , Hyzyd was still 3 months old at that time. Time flies so fast and my baby is now a toddler . It seems that I'm partly documenting my moments with my baby here with Mommy Moments :) I'm kinda late of my entry today coz we went to Hatyai City Municipality Park to visit the Lantern Festival ( the details for this event will be documented at Away from Home as my entry for Pixel Bug Weekend ) . I had a great time with my family. Hyzyd enjoyed the lights and the people. He loves to be in a place where he can see people and he will give his smile to them and greet them with " wai ". Share your special moments with your kids at Mommy Moments .

Couples Corner: the feeling called "Jealousy"

this is the way I confront my hubby when I'm jealous...lol! just kidding...my bro took this shot and commented that the 2nd shot looks like I'm confronting my hubby and that I look like one jealous wife...LOL! (look at the way I cling to my hubby...afraid of losing him!?!) Many people feel jealous from time to time. Jealousy is easy to deal with, once you understand what it's teaching you. I've read somewhere that Jealousy is not the same thing as love. Sometimes, people think that by feeling jealous about someone, they are loving them. Jealousy is not love; it’s the fear and anger of losing love. Jealousy disappears when you are truly loving yourself and others for whatever experience you’re having. In our case, most of our misunderstandings aren’t because of jealousy. Mostly, it’s just a matter of opinion – he likes it and I don’t like…not really that I’m totally disagreeing with him..it’s mostly pretending that I disagree with him so that we’ll have a “lively” discus
