Yesterday, as I carried Hyzyd outside, our neighbor greeted him "Sawasdee khrap" (read as Sawadii Khrap/Kap) . We're amazed that he joined the hands at the palms and raising them to a position somewhere between his chest! It's a "Wai"! A way of warm greetings here in Thailand. They repeated greeting him "Sawasdee Khrap" and he kept doing the same for three times! They exclaimed that he's a smart boy. I used to teach him to "wai" to elders at church but I didn't expect that he'll learn it too soon. I'm so proud of my baby!
By the way, "Wai" means hello and it could also mean goodbye.
