Is anything wrong with me? I'm not really into pets. I only have a puppy before I reached 7 but when it died, my love for dogs vanished. A friend offered to give us one of her puppies but I refused gracefully saying I'm allergic to dog's fur. Am I really allergic? That's what I think so because everytime I'm with one room with dogs, I degenerate into a sneezing fit! Honestly I despise mid-night potty runs, vomit on the rug and hair coating the couch caused by dogs. I don't have any idea of dog grooming too. It really needs sacrifice to raise a happy and well-adjusted dog. This week, I read an article that discusses that pet ownership in general can lower cholesterol and increase longevity; however, maximum benefits can be obtained only through dog ownership. Hyzyd got new favorites week after week. Most of his favorites involves books. He's not really into toys and movies but books! This week he's into a new book titled "The Berenstain Bears and the Big Red Kite". Guess who's his favorite reader? His dad! He won't let me read it to him. Even if I put my child in a glass case for protection, he'd find a way to break the glass and cut himself. Mild accidents happened last night despite my best childproofing and safety efforts. Last night my 14-month old tot was with me in the living room. He is playing and watching Mickey Mouse Club House at the same time. He was standing next to a fallen stand fan with broken blades around him! I checked on him if he has cuts, or any sort of injury. Thanks be to God that he's alright. I'm relieved. When I'm done picking up the broken pieces, I bathed him. I got the shock of my life again for he managed to put in his mouth a portion of the broken blade! Hyzyd, my Baby and child sucks his fingers almost all the time...is it okay?...should I stop him? How? I observed that babies generally suck their thumb to soothe themselves. My pediatrician told me that it is good, because they need to learn how to rely on their own resources. The ability to regulate or control one's behavior and emotions is an important developmental challenge. When my child sucks his thumb, he's just finding ways to make himself feel better without my help. It's comforting to know that but it's quite disturbing on the other hand. Honestly I'm concerned now especially that Hyzyd is almost 15 months . There are times that it is more irritating. They said my baby will stop when he's ready and has developed other ways of soothing himself. The question now is WHEN? It's already customary for us to have something new before the arrival of new year. New things signifies that something good and new is going to happen in the next year and hoping for an abundant blessings to be poured out.
