Food throwing

Ready? Aim. Splat! How to cope with your child's passion for flinging food. What it is: Your little one views mealtime as playtime — after a few slurps of spaghetti or sips of milk, she tosses her bowl to the floor or empties her cup with glee. ("Hey, gravity works! Let's do it again!") Why it happens: It may be maddening to watch food fly (and even more frustrating to have to clean up for the umpteenth time), but don't take it out on your toddler. She isn't misbehaving on purpose. She's just discovered the fun of picking food off the plate and watching what happens when she throws it clear across the room ("Hey, Mom, pasta sticks to the wall!"). In the process, your young scientist is busy learning about cause and effect. What you need to know: Toddlers, especially early in their second year, have a hard time controlling their impulse to touch, poke, grab, and throw. But you can take precautions to minimize hands-on behavior (and its effect) d...

Hyzyd at 9 months!

Happy 9 months to my dear baby HYZYD ! My dearest baby, Time flies so fast...You're now getting closer and closer to full-fledged walking. You now venture crawling up stairs and cruise, moving around upright while holding onto furniture. ..It's such a lovely site! You now learn how to bend your knees and how to sit after standing which they said harder to master than you might think because you might get "stuck" standing up in your crib. I'm so proud of you...you learn how to "unstuck" yourself!..he..he... You love now to sleep with us. We noticed that when you wake up in the middle of the night you're going to look at your left and right to see if daddy and mommy are besides you! Once, daddy was still using the computer and he saw how you lift your head as if looking for your dad because he's not on your side. When you caught him in front of the computer, you smile at him and get back to sleep. What a romantic lil boy you are! It's always i...

Hyzyd's first BUMP!

Hyzyd is already co-sleeping with us since our unplanned getaway . This morning, he was trying to wake me up but I was soooooooooo asleep. I was quickly awakened when I heard a THUD! Poor baby, he's flat on the floor! Don't worry, it's just few inches from our mattress...he..he.. Look at the bump "bukol"... His dad applied ice on the bump. It numbs the pain and minimize the swelling of the affected area. By the way do not put the ice directly on the bump. Get a plastic baggie or clean towels, place the ice inside, and then place that on the bump.

future teacher or supervisor?

Last Sunday while my sis-in-law is frying pancake , my bro is having his tutorial. Hyzyd wanted to be with his uncle and won't budge no matter how i persuade him to go with me. That's how he's so attached with his doting uncle...he..he.. Look how he tried to teach them too...LOL!..he's also like a supervisor supervising the works of his uncle...LOL!

Mommy Moments- Hyzyd's playing time

Aside from playing by himself , Hyzyd's fave playmates are his dad and his uncle Bjoy-my bro. He's enjoying every minute of it! Last July 4, 2008, it's Hyzyd's first time exploring the toys in TESCO play station! It isn't yet time for him to play in there for it's recommended for 1 year old and above but he's gesturing to his dad that he want to try on! What a fun he had! We bought that green elephant because the first time he saw it and try on it, he just love it. He will not let go of the poor elephant. You'll see he's riding on it while we're shopping. Head on to Mommy Moments to see other kids enjoying their playing time!

Sawasdee Khrap

Photo source here Yesterday, as I carried Hyzyd outside, our neighbor greeted him " Sawasdee khrap " ( read as Sawadii Khrap/Kap ) . We're amazed that he joined the hands at the palms and raising them to a position somewhere between his chest! It's a " Wai "! A way of warm greetings here in Thailand. They repeated greeting him " Sawasdee Khrap " and he kept doing the same for three times! They exclaimed that he's a smart boy. I used to teach him to " wai " to elders at church but I didn't expect that he'll learn it too soon. I'm so proud of my baby! By the way, " Wai " means hello and it could also mean goodbye .
