on your 17 months...

On your 17th months Hyzyd (it was last March 23) , it's pretty obvious that you love DRUMS! Do you want to be a drummer someday ? Every time we walked in the church you point first on the drums on stage and sometimes when your dad is playing there during the Praise and Worship service, you also wanted to be there with him! You cried and scream to get your way, which I find embarrassing my son ...so we end up staying in the office the whole time watching your dad plays the guitar through a window. We know that you love to "bang" those drum sets but we need to let you understand that you can play the drums after the service. You use to wake up late in the morning like 8:30 to 9:00 am but when your dad plays on the computer the Hillsongs' drum tutorial, you surely wake up to watch the video too! So, that's what I'm going to do tomorrow to let you wake up at 7:00 am because I'm going to bring you to school. We don't have class but we still need to sign in....

Hyzyd and his car

We don't yet have a car but Hyzyd already experienced riding on cars or vans when friends came to pick us up. Hyzyd's favorite past time too is riding on toy cars at Skippy's Wonderland. It's amazing to see him driving the car like a professional...LOL! If we'll have our car one of these days, I see to it that I must keep cars keys out of reach of my children. It's important to lock the cars, even when in the garage. I will teach my child/children that cars are not toys to play in and on or around, and that cars are dangerous. I should make my child/children understand that cars are not hiding places for games, and are dangerous, even deadly places. Kids are in and around cars from birth and become familiar with them. Cars are like an extension of our homes. Parents need to remember that cars are huge metal objects and in essence more deadly than having a loaded gun in the home. Leaving a child unattended in a car is now illegal in many states. Common sense shou...

Protecting Hyzyd's beautiful smile

I love to preserve and protect the beautiful smile of my baby. What did I do ? What would I do? I introduced sippy cup for Hyzyd the moment he reached 1 year old. I avoid letting Hyzyd walk around with bottle. Good thing that he's not really fond with his bottle and didn't even dare to hold it on his own. This is the reason why introducing him to sippy cup is easy peasy! He's doesn't experience prolonged exposure to bottle so there's no worry about "Early Childhood Cavities". I clean my baby's teeth daily. Visit South Austin Dentist ...ooops.. I forget, it's in Austin, Texas. I mean it's time to visit a dentist here in Thailand.

Happy 16th months Hyzyd!

My Everdearest baby, You're always my baby even if you're already 16 months old. Happy 16th months my son! The moment I laid my eyes on you, I can't help it but cry with joy. You're one of the greatest gifts God has entrusted upon us. I promise myself to be the best mom for you. You mean so much to me. You give more meaning to my life. Your smile erases my weariness and worries. Your laughter means a sweet music to my ear that soothe my soul. Your cry touches my heart that as I reach out for you, it's my prayer that I'll always be there for you. You're the prince of my life, the best son of your dad and the cuddly angel of your grandparents, titos and titas. I love you so much. It is my prayer that God will empower me to teach you His ways and the mom you'll be proud of. It is my daily prayer that God will give you the best in this life and you'll grow up into a fine young man leading a righteous and upright life. I'm proud to be your mommy. I lo...

our adventure with video slot machine

Tiredness and Hyzyd's health condition put the kibosh on our plan to visit the Lantern festival in Hatyai City Municipal Park. We contented ourselves playing educational games on video slot machines. Hyzyd loves to touch the screen so we enjoyed playing "Picture Hiding" and "Vocabulary". It's my first time to play this kind of game coz I thought I won't be able to understand the game because of it's Thai script. I was wrong. They have lots of educational games in English! We really enjoyed our weekend. We enjoyed having our photos taken as one of the TOP 5 winners!

on fats and gaining weight

After Hyzyd got sick last month, we visited his pedia for his another dose of vaccine. The pedia advised me to add more fats and oils to Hyzyd's diet coz he's underweight. He only weighed 8.8 kg at that time and the standard weight of a toddler his age is 10 kg. It makes me really worried and part of that to be blamed is ME! You see, I prepared healthy food for his diet with all the veggies and fruits and fish but I seldom prepares chicken meat on his food and never added on his diet any oily and fatty foods for Hyzyd! I thought fats and oils is bad for him. I now know that young children need plenty of fats in their diets. I now stir-fry his veggies in sunflower oil than boiling or steaming them.I prepared fried rice too. I add almond butter to bread (a higher fat content than peanut butter) , cream cheese to mashed potatoes , olive oil to vegetables , carnation instant breakfast to protein shakes (toddler's love the taste!). Last time we checked, Hyzyd already weighs 9.6 ...

capturing hyzyd's moment

Hyzyd loves the camera but now as a toddler he loves to run away when we wanted him to pose. We'll be chasing him and he'll be teasing us! We love our boy so much especially his smiles which we seldom captures. Today, I got him! Success!!!

Hyzyd and the Berenstains' Bears

Hyzyd got new favorites week after week. Most of his favorites involves books. He's not really into toys and movies but books! This week he's into a new book titled "The Berenstain Bears and the Big Red Kite". Guess who's his favorite reader? His dad! He won't let me read it to him. Poor mommy!:( On the other, I'm quite relieved because Hyzyd is giving his dad a hard task...he..he...He won't let his dad go over to other pages. He wanted his dad to create stories after stories out from this illustration for as long as 30 minutes! LOL! I also enjoy the stories made up by his dad- stories that came from "out-of-nowhere". can you help us make more more stories out from this illustration? It seems that we're running out of ideas...LOL! an entry for
